Simple, she buys a new one, and then ships (carefully) the old one to you, or delivers it the next time the two of you are in the same location. You fix it when you get time, and then you have a spare laptop laying around. If you want Lenovo direct discounts, email me offlist, I qualify for EPP and it can be shared with Friends and Family.
