Can't speak to the Xbox. But a low-end PC (htpc) that can stream blu-ray is a nice thing to have.

When I bought it I didn't realize I would not be able to stream to my WD Live, or any computer to my TV, nor would I be able to re-encode and archive anything other then PBS recordings. Windows 7 Media Center only allows playback on the computer it was recorded on. However, you can stream to an XBOX Extender, and the only extender I have identified is an XBOX. It would appear my choices are, buy or make a dedicated HDTV PC for my TV, or get an EBOX.
