That could be it. I'll give an example, my brother in law is playing Secret World MMO and I'm playing RIFT2 MMO. He has ATI and I have nVIDIA. nVIDIA released a beta driver to optimize rift, but my brother in law still has issues with the game, albeit minor ones.
