Yes. Last I read, the buzz fix will take up some of the (so | far) unused space in the GTA. Yeah not too much and near the mic where you wouldn't want to cover it anyway. What I would do though is swap the order you're doing things around. Start with a webcam mated to a mini USB plug and see how you go with the software stack and driver using the external host connector first.
