Yes it was. It will be interesting to see what becomes the "dominant design"
that serves the embedded space after another year or so of shakeout. Will it
get irreparably bifurcated with the R.Pi folks sticking with the
Gertboard, the
Google Gadget crowd sticking with their architectures, and the open hardware
community getting balkanized into various tribes that subscribe to only one
license or standard? Maybe open hardware is different than open
software and we
will see remixes of other group's boards. Interesting times.
Open Hardware Summit is in Sept. I am going to see if I can make it this year.

Was this in response to my comment to Federico, "...you've never really
mentioned what you use all these other devices for. ... What were you
using them for?"
If so, there's no shortage of uses I can imaging for these devices, but
I was curious specifically what Federico was using them for, and whether
he was acquiring them with projects in mind, or just to demo at talks.
