As you found, there are plenty of tablets that meet your criteria including price. They'll be slow, low-res, heavy, have short battery life, and may not run the Play store, but all that still fits your requirements. Because there a a pile of different manufacturers and models, and collectively I don't think they sell that well, there is sort of a "long tail" problem, where finding someone with first-hand experience with any particular model might be tough, and any model at all might be a challenge. I don't know anyone personally who owns one of these. Looking up reviews on Amazon might be your best bet. When I looked at these a year or more ago at Amazon I noticed that there was some consolidation around a specific model (sold under a few different model numbers). I do find these products interesting. Not as general purpose tablets, but as potential dedicated appliances, or user interfaces for other projects. So if you get one, posting a review here would be welcomed. > (other kid-proofing suggestions welcome) Do they make an Otterbox for 7" tablets? -Tom _______________________________________________ Hardwarehacking mailing list [email protected] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/hardwarehacking
