Looking online for a replacement UPS battery I ran across: http://www.chromebattery.com/
which I hadn't seen before. They claim to be a US company, and tout that as an advantage over their competitors, even though their products are made in China, just like their competitors. In fact there is some evidence that these are just relabeled batteries made by their competitors. Anyone have experience with this vendor? They sell through their own web site as well as Amazon and NewEgg. Annoying they create a separate product page for each battery one of their batteries is a suitable replacement for, so a single 12V 9AH battery of a certain physical size may be listed on dozen or more different product pages. As a result, product reviews get spread thinly across the product pages. Reviews so far seem to be good, though a few complained that they ordered a Chrome Battery and received another manufacturer's battery. This often happens on Amazon when 3rd party merchants claim to be selling an item, when in reality they're selling a compatible or knock-off, but here there is no sign of 3rd party vendors selling on the Chrome Battery pages. Also some complaints where people said they ordered a battery with .250" terminals and got one with .187" terminals and some cheesy adapters. Unfortunately this us common with SLAs - letting vendors get away with making or stocking fewer products - but still a misrepresentation if not disclosed. -Tom _______________________________________________ Hardwarehacking mailing list [email protected] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/hardwarehacking
