I haven't looked at APR in detail, but the O/S requirements of the VM
proper are not that involved and I'm sure APR could handle them. There's
probably more "corner case" requirements from the class library's native
code, as that stuff implements most of Java's I/O, networking, etc.
Which wouldn't have an APR dependency....
