Hi,
This is true but then you don't get the benefits of the Eclipse update
mechanism which provides capabilities to auto-check for updates to
installed features, disable/restore features etc. Let Eclipse do the
work for you.

That's right ; the plug-in is an extension to Eclipse that enables
developers to conveniently define a Harmony JRE to the IDE and run
applications on it from within their IDE workspace.
