We want YOU to become a Mentor!

The mission of the Mentoring Committee is to help AJL members who are new
to the field or new to some aspect of their jobs find a "point person" to
whom they can turn for advice when they have questions. The Mentor does
not do their job for them or act as an unpaid consultant; rather the Mentor
provides direction and moral support, and helps "newbies" avoid reinventing
the wheel.

Why should you become a Mentor? Here's a Top Five list for you...
1. It's a mitzvah.
2. You'll learn by teaching.
3. You'll ensure that the field of Judaica librarianship remains strong and
vibrant.
4. You'll nurture future AJL leaders.
5. It'll look great on your resume.

We've only got a handful of names so far, and we need a solid pool of
Mentors before we can invite newcomers to become Mentees. Please help this
new AJL program get off the ground by volunteering to be a Mentor! Send in
your name to Heidi Estrin, Chair of the Mentoring Committee, at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] You are also welcome to email me with questions about
the program before committing yourself, of course!
