I haven't used it in several years, but the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day of GReater Washington classed all books together in a modified Dewey scheme. In all classes, we made extensions and adaptations as needed, particularly in the 200's and 900's. We also modified the Sears, and LC subject headings as needed, creating our own name and subject authority lists. We didn't have to determine whether a book was "general" or "Judaic", and there was one unified collection. This worked very well for grades K to 12. Good luck!
