We now have in stock the Yiddish first edition of "Di Kats der Payats," or "The Cat and the Hat." This will be the first Dr. Seuss title ever to appear in Yiddish. The copies that we will have are inscribed by the translator, Sholem Berger. When ordering, please indicate whether you would prefer the signature in Yiddish (Hebrew) or English, as I have both. The Yiddish edition has paper covered boards like the English original and will be similar in size. It runs 72 pages, with illustrated endpapers. The Yiddish text rhymes like the original and has the Yiddish in Hebrew characters and transliteration into Roman characters on each page. There is a transliteration and alphabet chart in the back. It opens and reads right to left. It looks very much like the currently available English language edition, but is printed on a better clay paper. We also have copies of "Vini-der-Pu," by A.A. Milne (also known as Winnie the Pooh). It has the original illustrations by Ernest H. Shepard. The translation (which I like) is by Leonard Woolf. It is a fine/fine hardcover.
