I am trying to word a notification to send to congregants/library users informing them of their overdue materials and asking for their timely return or replacement. It's so tricky since they feel that the library is theirs and there should be no time limit on their items - only on the items that other people have checked out that they want! People get quite testy - and don't necessarily return the materials anyway! I've tried calling and talking to people in person and now I'd like to try a writen notification. I'm looking for examples! What have you used? Success rate? I've been told I'm not to institute late fees.
Any thoughts or examples would be appreciated!
