Buenos Aires, October 20th., 2003
To whom it may concern,
We are pleased to inform you that Rabbi Adrian Herbst has been appointed new Dean of our Seminario Rabinico Latinoamericano Marshall T. Meyer, having been selected by the International Committee of background evaluation.
Rabbi Adrian Herbst, 31 years old, married, holds a Sociology degree from the University of Buenos Aires, a B.A. in Bible and Jewish Thought from the University of Haifa, a Master in Judaic Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary in Jerusalem, a Master in Compared Religions and Jewish Thought from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem; he is a graduate from the Jerusalem Fellows Program (Amitei Ierushalaim), has a PhD in Compared Religions and Jewish Thought from Harvard University and has recently obtained his Post Doctorate in Compared Religions by Oxford University.
The Seminario Rabnico Latinoamericano reckons that the appointment of Rabbi Adrian Herbst, former student of this institution, will significantly contribute to continuity of Jewish Education in our continent. This was the goal of our founder, the unforgettable Rabbi Marshall T. Meyer ZL, and this continues to be our challenge: to develop a kind of Judaism that provides for both, a way of living and a way of thinking. That the study of our sources serves as a trigger to live Judaism with dignity and basically with a good knowledge of it.
Atem Edai
