The Jewish Community Library of Los Angeles in partnership with
Facing History and Ourselves presents:

     Memoirs and Diaries of Youth During the Holocaust -
     Thursday, January 15, 2004
     Times: 4:30-8:00 PM
     Dinner will be served


       Description: The stories of young people who come of age during
extreme times raise important questions about history and identity-questions
that resonate with students today. In this workshop, we will examine
resources such as Elie Wiesel's Night; Mona Golabek's The Children of
Willesden Lane, the story of her mother's experiences during World War II in
England; The Diary of Anne Frank; and Alexandra Zapruder's Salvaged Pages:
Young Writers' Diaries of the Holocaust.

       Location: Jewish Community Library of Los Angeles
       6505 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90048
       (Jewish Federation Goldsmith Building)
       Free visitor parking located immediately west of the building.

       This workshop counts towards hours for one professional development
salary point in LAUSD.
