Tifferet Sinai (The Glory of Sinai), the Hebrew dramatic works of
Mattityahu Nissim (Donato) Terni, edited from manuscripts with an
introduction and notes by Dvora Bregman. Jerusalem, Ben Zvi Institute, 2003.

Terni (1745-1810), a rabbi in Florence, Pesaro and other towns in
Italy, composed a number of dramas for the Shavuot festival, and they were
performed annualy by the students of the Talmud Torah of Pesaro. The text
of six plays survive in manuscripts; three of them were previously printed
, but the other three were never edited before. All six plays appear in
this volume in a critical edition based on all the manuscripts and early
editions.

This volume is a welcome addition to the very slim opus of Hebrew dramatic
works before the 19th cent.
