I wonder about the propriety of postings that not only alert us to the
publication of a new book which may be of interest to many of us, but
also reach forward considerably towards undue self-promotion by giving
a second "alert" with full information, when only a simple correction
would have been enough. Further, I am not pleased to see excerpts from
a review with elipses in the text -- indicating that something was left
out. It's not too 'kosher' to do that -- better to have merely given us
the URL for the review or only the simple citation, and left it at that!

 From the Moderator:

I agree, it was my mistake. 2 or 3 days ago Mr. Sheridan posted the same
message and
I shortened the original posting by deleting the "book reviews" and the
self-promotion parts.

I will try to be more attentive next time.
