On behalf of the President of the World Union of Jewish Studies, Prof. Menachem Elon, and on behalf of the Executive Committee I am happy to inform you that the Fourteenth World Congress of Jewish Studies will be held at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem; Sunday � Thursday, 31.07. � 04.08.2005.
It is a tradition that we give academic institutions both in Israel and worldwide advanced notice so they can cooperate with us regarding organization of the sessions that are to be presented at the Congress. Such cooperation widens the Congress�s spectrum and is highly appreciated by us.
Such cooperation can have various forms: initiative regarding organization of series of Congress sessions � kind of a �mini congress� in the framework of the Fourteenth World Congress of Jewish Studies; organizing single sessions in the framework of the Congress divisions; encouraging participation of scholars, etc.
We request academic bodies, which are willing to cooperate with us regarding the Congress organization to send us their suggestions. They will be reviewed by appropriate academic committees.
After approving the suggestion, we will help you with any organizational and technical matters, which may occur in organizing the sessions.
