There is a Hebrew book, Melitzei Eish, by M. Stern (Brooklyn 1962) that lists the yahrzeits of famous and not so famous Rabbis by month and day. A quick glance at Adar 1 reveals that it is the yahrzeit of Rabbi Abraham ibn Ezra and Shabbetai Cohen (author of the Shach). Rabbi Mordecai Yaffe (author of the Levush) died on Adar 2.
