Hi, HaSafran. I posted this query to another listserv, and here are the responses I've gotten so far. Is it possible that the name of the heroine was Annemarie and not Annelise? I will forward any new posts on this topic to this other list, which is comprised of people who know children's literature extremely well. And I'll post to this list any new responses that come from the other list. I'll delete all names and e-mail addresses unless instructed otherwise.
I hope this post gets through to HaSafran. My last three--all forwards of CFPs related to Jewish literature and/or issues--did not make it to the list, but I do not know why. There are three forwarded messages below.
