Hanna may be right about not desiring this book as an addition. However,
we have had several books through the years whose protagonists don't want
their Judaism known. One book by Carol Matas from several years back
featured a Polish girl who lived in Germany after her family was
taken. And of course the sisters in ida Vos's third book are "hidden
children" traveling from place to place escaping the Nazis.

I haven't read Katarina yet, so can't comment on its qualities. But the
factor she raises should not of itself eliminate it from our shelves.
