To the Collective Wisdom:

Our Rabbi approached me with a dilemma regarding software for teaching
torah and megillah reading. He is trying to encourage many people to
learn to 'layn'. I have bought a few copies of torah reading software
and one to learn megillah, but he wants people to be able to have the
software at home to learn at their own speed. He doesn't want to get
into illegal copying of software, but we're not a huge congregation
which can afford to buy 5 or 10 copies of each. The software also tends
to be somewhat expensive to ask people to buy it themselves.

What are other congregations doing? Are there any websites that do the
same? Of course, people are then at the mercy of their home internet
connection.

Thanks,
Amy
