REACH FOR THE STARS: A Little Torah's Journey by Sylvia Rouss will be presented to the families of the astronauts of the ill-fated Columbia Space Shuttle at an official program in Israel this weekend. Joachim Joseph, who read his Bar Mitzvah Parsha from this miniature Torah in the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp and ultimately gave the little Torah to Ilan Ramon, will present a copy of this book to each of the families.
Joachim's introduction in REACH FOR THE STARS reveals his camaraderie with Ilan Ramon and the other astronauts. The book itself traces the little Torah's journey from the depths to the heights, a journey that brought pride to the Jewish people, and hope to the world. A documentary is currently be produced, based on REACH FOR THE STARS.
