Hello, we are in the midst of trying to choose automation software. We, as most of the high school day schools, would like to have software that accommodates Hebrew. I have been speaking to many AJL librarians and except for one, they all wish they had automation software that accommodated Hebrew, but they couldn't find it. One school does have such software called Librarysoft by Brodart (www.librarysoft.com). I checked out this library's online catalogue and it only has a simple search but no advanced search. The librarian says that they do have an advanced search on one of their computers in the library. I was speaking to another librarian and we thought to suggest to our fellow member librarians from AJL who are interested in Hebrew compatible software that they might contact Librarysoft. Perhaps by so many Jewish Librarians showing our concerns, the company would respond by putting in an advanced search onto the on-line catalogues. If you are interested, please contact Librarysoft and let them know that there is a market out there that is interested in such software. -Esther Merzel Librarian, Ida Crown Jewish Academy Chicago, IL 773-973-1450 X135
