Of course, ideally, you would read him in Latin (Don't worry, my Latin isn't good enough either). What I would do is get a good English translation with notes, of the kind commonly used for college level courses, such as one from a series like the Penguin Classics or the Harvard Classics. If you have a modicum of Latin, I would suggest using the text of the Loeb Classical Library, which provides a Latin text alongside an English translation. You could then use the Penguin Classics type text as a supplement.
