I posted this before Pesach and so would like to refresh your memory, if
Yossi will let me. Also, there's one new piece of info: a tour of the
archives will be a part of the program.

PLEASE JOIN US ON FRIDAY MAY 21 when the Massachusetts Chapter of the
Association of Jewish Libraries (MAAJL) will sponsor a program at Hebrew
College in Newton, MA. After gathering at 9:30 for registration and coffee,
we will be treated to a presentation by Bernard Wax, Director Emeritus of
The American Jewish Historical Society (AJHS) (the Boston office of AJSH is
at Hebrew College)whose topic will be:

350 years of American Jewish history through the lens of the AJHS.

The second part of our program will be a time for librarians to discuss
visioning.  This session will be led by Judith Segel, Director, Hebrew
College Library.


For those who would like to stay for lunch, a kosher catered lunch will be
provided.  (See details below.)We will also have a chance to tour the
beautiful new Hebrew College Library, along with the archives of the
American Jewish Historical Society.


SCHEDULE FOR THE MAAJL PROGRAM ON FRIDAY MAY 21

9:30 - 10:00:  Registration and coffee

10:00 - 11:00: Presentation by Bernard Wax, AJHS, and tour of archives, with
focus on the history of the Jews of Boston.

11:00 - 12:00:  Visioning.

12:00 - 1:00:  Lunch. Kosher meal provided by
                Hebrew
                College's onsite kosher caterer.
                Menu TBA.

  Fee: $20.00 for program and lunch.  $7.00 if just attending program. You
may bring a check or cash the day of the program.


PLEASE REPLY TO ANN ABRAMS, [EMAIL PROTECTED] by Friday May 14, if you
plan to come, and indicate if you would like a kosher lunch.  PLEASE NOTE
THAT HEBREW COLLEGE DOES NOT ALLOW OUTSIDE FOOD TO BE BROUGHT INTO THEIR
DINING ROOM, AND DOES NOT ALLOW NON-KOSHER FOOD IN THEIR OTHER ROOMS AND
BUILDINGS.  Hebrew College is a short walk or drive to Newton Centre, which
has many restaurants.
