Have you ever wondered why Joseph and Jacob start with a "J" when the
Hebrew begins with a yod? This month's Librarian's Lobby deals with that
problem and the problem of transliteration in general.

Here is the Librarian's Lobby column for May :
http://home.earthlink.net/~ddstuhlman/crc71.htm.

April's column was : Names and their Importance Part II
http://home.earthlink.net/~ddstuhlman/crc70.htm.

BTW

I heard an interesting story as feedback for a column I wrote in 1997
concerning the late Rabbi Chaim Regensberg. Someone searching the web
found my column and because of it was able to find a lost cousin who was
Rabbi Regensberg's grandson.
