I have had a patron request the source in Rav A.I. Kook's writings for the view that the human soul in this world is like an inverted tree with its Root in the heavens. According to this view, if one lives one's life nourished by the Root, one's life will be fruitful, and one will be cultivating the soul such that there will be more soul to be preserved in the world to come.
Does anyone know the source of this view?
