I think you are referring to the story of Bahram Gur and Azada. We have a book here at UCLA in Italian:
La leggenda di Bahra�m Gu�r e A�za�da : materiale per la storia di una tipologia figurativa dalle origini al XIV secolo by Maria Vittoria Fontana. It has 40 plates so I imagine there will be something of interest. I can page it from our annex and it should be here in a day or so.
