International Cultural Consulting Firm Launched
Art & Culture Mondiale to Facilitate International Work of Cultural Institutions
New York, NY -- Norman A. Ross, President of Ross Publishing Inc., has announced the formation of a new subsidiary, Art & Culture Mondiale, that will provide consulting services to cultural institutions throughout the world to facilitate their international activities, including exhibits, exchanges, publishing, organizing conferences and participation in international events. Despite the rapid growth in electronic communications, such institutions often need a physical presence in major capitals to participate fully in the worldwide cultural milieu, but it is generally not affordable.
Rapid globalization of the world economy is having profound effects on the business of cultural, educational and other not-for-profit institutions. Mr. Ross stated, During my decades of international work I have met many scholars who are in a position to help these institutions, but lack the contacts and a business structure, while the cultural institutions lack the foreign representation necessary to maximize their international potential. Art & Culture Mondiale will connect these highly qualified academics with the institutions, both in the U.S. and abroad.
Art & Culture Mondiale will make available the resources of a worldwide network of academic and business contacts. Among the services are:
 negotiation and brokerage of contracts for cultural exchanges, exhibits and co-publishing;
 publishing, printing and design services, advertising and marketing;
 preparation of grant proposals and fundraising;
 art and library appraisal services;
 translating and interpreting services;
 local address, including office and networking facilities.
Headquartered in the heart of New York City, the capital of the world, Art & Culture Mondiale will rely primarily on the rich variety of highly talented people in New York. Among the consultants already on board are Antonina W. Bouis, MA, Columbia University; Jane Friedman, MA, Hunter College, CUNY; Eugene Kisluk, PhD, Columbia University; Barbara Niemczyk, PhD, Yale University; Anatolii Trekhsviatskyi, PhD, Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East, Vladivostok; Robert Whitaker, PhD, Indiana University; in Paris, Catherine Hodeir, PhD, Universit de Paris, and in Amsterdam, Roelof van Straten, Drs., University of Leiden.
Mr. Ross was previously president of Clearwater Publishing, Norman Ross Publishing, Broadside Ltd. and Video Strategies USA. He has visited and worked with libraries, universities, newspapers and publishers in more than 40 countries, with an emphasis on Europe, but including China, Japan, India and Indonesia, as well as Mexico, Guatemala, Egypt, Turkey, Israel and South Africa.
With 40 years of experience as a publisher of reference books and of microfilms of newspapers and library materials throughout the United States, Russia, Eastern and Western Europe, Asia and other parts of the globe, working in partnership with a myriad of cultural organizations, Ross is in a unique position, through Art & Culture Mondiale, to use his expertise to help meet the needs of institutions that seek to enhance their place in the world culture scene.
