Prize-winning writer Jay Neugeboren presents twelve extraordinary stories
that capture the Jewish experience of exile in ordinary life. NEWS FROM
THE NEW AMERICAN DIASPORA: And Other Tales of Exile (May 2005; University
of Texas Press; $16; ISBN 0-292-70661-8) spans the twentieth century and
includes startling and unforgettable glimpses into the lives of its
characters - a rabbi, a boy at summer camp, a professor whose marriage is
ending.

Neugeboren's previous collections include Corky's Brother and Don't Worry
About the Kids. His novels include The Stolen Jew and Before My Life Began.
His stories have been selected for more than 50 anthologies, including Best
American Short Stories and O. Henry Prize Stories. His nonfiction includes
Open Heart and Imagining Robert. I hope you'll take a look at this new
collection.
