Dear HaSafranites, I have a friend who was born in New Mexico and recently discovered that she may be descended from a Spanish Jewish woman (a converso, I assume--or is it conversa?). I know there are novels out there with the hidden Jew theme. I remember reading one, but it was set in Europe, for the most part, if I am recalling correctly (could this have been Japhte's Daughter? I'm not sure). In any case, I'm looking for title suggestions for novels that include this topic but that are set in the United States or Mexico. I appreciate your help. Thank you.
