Thanks to Heidi Estrin for pointing out the link on the ALA web site that
has the online Special Midwinter Meeting [January] 2005 issue of Versed:
Bulletin of the Office for Diversity American Library Association on
"Multicultural Awards for Young Readers, a Brief History" by Sherry York,
which cites the Sydney Taylor Book Award and links to the AJL web site.

As a point of information, AJL is mentioned in at least a dozen other
places on the ALA web site. A couple of the other more significant cites
are found in:

1) "Library Associations Around the World," a Project of the IFLA
Management of Library Associations Section, coordinated by the American
Library Association, International Relations Office at
http://www.ala.org/ala/iro/intlassocorgconf/libraryassociations.htm

Last night, I sent them our new mailing and e-mail addresses, and
they updated the directory listing this morning.

2) "Additional Links" on the The Asian, African, and Middle Eastern
Section AAMES) of the Association of College and Research Libraries
(ACRL):

http://www.ala.org/ala/acrl/aboutacrl/acrlsections/aames/aamesadditional.htm

with a live link from our association's name, which is the heading for the
paragraph on AJL, to our web page.

Other links lead to past programs co-sponsored by AJL at annual
conferences of ALA and IFLA (Jerusalem 2000), and sessions at some AJL
Conventions are also mentioned.

Elliot
