Subject: Hebrew Question

Hi all,

I received the following request from a friend of mine in Saskatchewan. If
anyone can answer I would appreciate if you could reply either directly to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ; or you can reply to me to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and I
will forward the answer on. (My old e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] is still working
but in the process of being changed. So best to use [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks

Rebecca

I'm researching 1 Samuel 16, and have a Hebrew question.

v. 6-8 have Samuel ready to pick Eliab as the new King but God tells him
not to be distracted by physical appearances for "the Lord does not see as
mortals see...but looks on the heart."

But in v. 12, Samuel finally meets David and finds that he "has beautiful
eyes, and was handsome." Is there a nuance to the word for "handsome" in
v. 12 that I need to know?

On a literal take it seems like the story ends with God telling Samuel,
"OK, here is someone with a physical appearance that I'll let you get
distracted by."

And as a further aside, do you have a Hebrew font for Windows?
