AJL member Barbara Silverman is in the running for a
position as an ALA Council-at-Large.

I urge ALA members to vote for this smart and gracious
librarian, who cares mightily about libraries. I know
Barbara Silverman from her dedicated work in San Diego
at the Astor Library of the Lawrence Family JCC and
from her work on a variety of other book related
programs.

Barbara was on hand at the AJL conference in June 2004
to accept the AJL accreditation award for the Astor
Library and she plans to attend this year's AJL
conference in Oakland.

I highly recommend Barbara Silverman as an excellent
candidate for ALA Council. Please contact every ALA
member you know and urge them to support Barbara
Silverman's candidacy. Competition for these positions
is fierce and every vote counts.
