Dear Hasafranim, This request came to me through another listserve. I have not been able to find the book Cathy is talking about. Do any of you know what it is?
Thank you, Eileen Polk, Librarian Prentis Memorial Library Temple Beth El Bloomfield Hills, MI Hi, I have a patron who read a book in the late 1970s that she thinks was by Elie Wiesel. It was about a young German soldier who was in hospital and dying. He wanted to be forgiven for his role in the murder of Jews. Someone on staff brought in a Jewish person to forgive him. The dialog of the book then goes into the nature of forgiveness. If the soldier is forgiven is it condoning what he did? Anyway, I cannot find a Wiesel book that seems to be the right title. (It may have the word 'sun' or 'sunrise' in the title but that is stretching her memory a bit.) Any suggestions are appreciated!
