Friends, colleagues: In what title (book) would I look to locate the following story? A rebbe says the Baal Shem Tov knew to go to the forest to meditate-- he knew the exact place, tune, etc. to get the answer from Hashem. After the Baal Shem Tov, the rebbe knew ONLY the song, and after that rebbe the next rebbe knew ONLY the special place, and after that rebbe the next rebbe knew ONLY that the place was in the forest and this rebbe now knows ONLY that such a story exists.
