PARTTIME POSITION AVAILABLE Temple Shalom Library, Naples, Florida Temple Shalom, a Reform Jewish congregation in southwest Florida, seeks a PT professional librarian for its Learning Resource Center. The Library serves a congregation of 700+ households. Facilities and programs include a religious school, a non-sectarian pre-school, adult education institute, participation in community inter-faith activities, participation in SWFLN (Southwest Florida Library Network) and AJL (Association of Jewish Libraries), and event planning and implementation for special interest groups or individuals upon request.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage collection development including the purchase and acquisition of retrospective and current materials for children and adults in a variety of formats; copy and variant edition cataloging of backlog and current purchases; plan and implement special events in conjunction with the Library Committee, train volunteers; help to organize a Friends group; work with faculty and both Rabbis and their classes upon request; service reference queries both on- and off-line; compile and disseminate bibliographies. QUALIFICATIONS: -- ALA-accredited MLS -- Prior professional experience -- Working knowledge of AACR2 and the MARC format -- OCLC experience for reference and inter-library loan desirable -- Experience with online system required -- Excellent communication skills with both children and adults POSITION INFORMATION: Salary range: $18. - $22. per hour depending on experience, up to 20 hours per week. Wednesdays late afternoon and Sunday mornings required during the academic year; otherwise very flexible.
