Special Event on Monday evening, June 20.
DINNER AT RISTORANTE RAPHAEL in BERKELEY AND A CONVERSATION WITH DANIEL MATT
Ristorante Raphael is a Kosher (Italian Restaurant (Dairy) in Downtown
Berkeley located at 2132 Center Street -- one half block from the
Berkeley BART Station. The restaurant is under the supervision of
the Orthodox Rabbinical Council of San Francisco (ORC).DINNER AT RISTORANTE RAPHAEL in BERKELEY AND A CONVERSATION WITH DANIEL MATT
Before dessert, we will take a break to have a conversation with Daniel Matt, the translator of the Pritzker Edition of the Zohar.
In 1997, Daniel Matt began work on the first complete English translation of the Zohar. Thanks to the patronage of philanthropist Margot Pritzker, he is devoting his full attention to a text that scholars believe was composed by Moses de Leon in 13th-century Spain. Stanford University Press published the first two volumes in 2004. These volumes received the Koret Foundation Jewish Book Award for Philosophy and Jewish Thought in 2004.
The cost of the dinner will be $36 including tax and tip (payable by check at registration).
Please email Paul Hamburg ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) to register (space is limited). *
*SPECIAL NOTE: UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO A MALFUNCTION OF MY E-MAIL, ALL PREVIOUS RESERVATIONS HAVE BEEN LOST. IT IS NECESSARY TO RE-REGISTER FOR THE DINNER. AT THE SAME TIME, PLEASE INDICATE IF YOU WILL NEED A VEGAN MEAL.
