ALCTS CCS Heads of Cataloging Discussion Group meeting When : Monday, June 27, 2005, 9:30 am - 11:00 am Where: Palmer House Hilton, Empire Room Title: Educating the Next Cataloger How do we educate a potential cataloger or user of a cataloger? What kinds of questions do we want library schools to teach students to solve? This presentation will review some of the topics covered in a cataloging class, describe how the students are given exposure to the vocabulary and tools of a cataloger, and explain the thought process in learning how to balance the art and science of cataloging library materials.
