B'nai B'rith Archives, one of the leading U.S. Jewish archives, seeks an experienced archivist for a contract position funded by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany through June 2006 to identify, arrange, conserve, and describe Holocaust- related material within the Archives' holdings. The archivist will be responsible for administering and completing all phases of the project including conducting a thorough, well-documented survey and inventory of the Archives' processed and unprocessed holdings, developing and implementing an arrangement scheme for unprocessed material, identifying conservation needs, rehousing all Holocaust-related material in acid-free folders and containers, preparing a descriptive online guide to the Holocaust-related holdings, and meeting regularly with conservators, historians, and U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum staff.
