Scheduled closing deadlines that fall on a non-business day at ASU will be extended to the next ASU business day.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This Library Assistant will: perform bibliographic searches of Hebrew and/or Yiddish language materials and compare against library holdings; search the cataloging databases (OCLC or RLIN) for useable bibliographic records; create and update acquisitions records; and provide language assistance as needed in Technical Services. Will pay attention to detail, exercise independent judgment as appropriate, and work independently. Will follow instructions and organize and manage multiple workflows. The incumbent in this position works under the supervision of the head of the Monographic Receiving/Copy Cataloging Unit. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Six months of library or related clerical experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
