Dear Jewish Studies Communities,

The Penn library has launched a new website for its Judaica collections,
as part of its Area Studies initiative. This website provides an
integrated picture of Penn's entire Judaica holdings, services, and
resources, both on campus - including the Weigle Judaica and Ancient Near
East Seminar Reading Room (JANES) in Van Pelt - and at the Center for
Advanced Judaic Studies library (CAJS). You will find descriptions of our
different print, manuscript and archival collections, links to our
multi-media holdings, and information about how to conduct on-line
computing in Hebrew and other non-Roman character sets.

The new site is located at:

http://www.library.upenn.edu/collections/judaica/

On the right hand side of the page, you'll also find highlights of our
digital initiatives, including links to our on-line exhibits, genizah
project, and other digitization programs.

The CAJS library home page [ http://www.library.upenn.edu/cajs/ ] still
exists, will continue to function as normal and will continue to serve the
CAJS library and its constituencies. You can link to the new Judaica site
from the CAJS library homepage (click on the blue-highlighted link "Penn
Judaica Collection").

If you have any questions or comments about Penn's new Judaica library
site, please feel free to contact me or Seth Jerchower
([EMAIL PROTECTED]).

Thanks,

Arthur
