"The Hebrew Kid and the Apache Maiden," by Robert Avrech, which was named a "Notable Children's Book of Jewish Content" by the Association of Jewish Libraries, has now been awarded the 2006 Ben Franklin Award for Best First Novel from PMA, the Independent Book Publishers Association at the 2006 Publishing University, in association with Book Expo America in Washington D.C.
