Hi,
I read a post on this listserv regarding a registry fix for a run
time error 2004 with Encyclopedia Judaica. Has anyone successfully
gotten the registry fix to work, and if so be willing to provide a
little more instruction to me? I have added the registry fix but am
still having the runtime error. I am not yet subscribed to this
listserv, but can be contacted off list.
Thank you so much!

This issue was brought up last year on ha-Safran. Apparently, EJ
has a problem running on systems with more than 512MB of RAM. The
problem can be fixed by adding a Windows registry entry that
instructs Windows to limit the resources available to the EJ while
allowing full resources to be available to all other programs. I've
included in my message a copy of the message from last year that
contained the solution:
----------
Thanks to Mr. Yehoshua Israel the director of IS at Spertus Institute of
Jewish Studies we now have a solution for run time error 2004. This is a
problem which we did not succeed to solve properly for a long time.
In our previous solution it was necessary to limit the resources of the
system in purpose to use the Enc. Judaica CD-ROM which was crashing when a
computer system has more than 512MB of RAM.
In the new solution you just instruct the system to limit the resources
available for the Enc. Judaica program without affecting the rest of the
system.
So here it is:
If you are using Windows NT / Windows 2000 / Windows XP Copy the entire
text in the following black lines into a text file and name the file with a
.reg extension. Then double click the file to add the registry entry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Compatibility\Applications\JUDAI32]
"flags"=dword:0000080c
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Compatibility32\Applications\JUDAI32]
"flags"=dword:0000080c
Only if you are running the product on a Windows 2000 terminal server you
need instead of above lines to copy the following black lines into a text
file and name the file with a .reg extension. Then double click the file to
add the registry entry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal
Server\Compatibility\Applications\JUDAI32]
"flags"=dword:0000080c
Thanks and I welcome your response,
