The deadline, December 15,to apply for new or renewal accreditation from the SSC division is fast approaching. Don't let this opportunity pass you by. Accreditation is an easily recognized indicator of professional achievement. In addition, focusing on areas of improvement and achievement will help you gain valuable insight into your librarys strengths and weaknesses. Accreditation is offered at the basic and advanced level with a supplementary application form for day school / media center libraries. The Basic process requires you to exhibit your policies, procedures, statistics, and programming. The Advanced process requires that you demonstrate effective policies, procedures, and collections that follow AJLs standards of excellence.
Complete information and forms can be found on the AJL Web site at <http://www.jewishlibraries.org/ajlweb/accreditation/accreditation.htm>http://www.jewishlibraries.org/ajlweb/accreditation/accreditation.htm.
