The deadline, December 15,to apply for new or renewal accreditation 
from the SSC division is fast approaching.
Don't let this opportunity pass you by.  Accreditation is an easily 
recognized indicator of professional achievement.  In addition, 
focusing on areas of improvement and achievement will help you gain 
valuable insight into your library’s strengths and 
weaknesses.  Accreditation is offered at the basic and advanced level 
with a supplementary application form for day school / media center 
libraries.  The Basic process requires you to exhibit your policies, 
procedures, statistics, and programming.  The Advanced process 
requires that you demonstrate effective policies, procedures, and 
collections that follow AJL’s standards of excellence.
