At the request of a few librarians, I wanted to let everyone know that the Encyclopedia Judaica is available in both a print and eBook format. The print edition, normally $1,995, is on sale through December 20th for $1,895 (plus free shipping). An eBook of the new edition is also available, although the price depends on the size of the institution (for synagogues, K12 schools, small public libraries, and colleges with less than 5,000 FTE the price is $2,194.50). Thomson Gale does offer an incentive to purchase the print AND the eBook with the print copy being available for 75% off ($498.75). By extending this great price to their members, some synagogues have even purchased multiple copies at $498.75 after purchasing the eBook.
Both the print and eBook are set to release this month. While the eBook is not currently available to view, I am happy to walk anyone through the platform that the eBook works through (the Gale Virtual Reference Library). Benefits of the eBook include 24/7 access, remote access anywhere your members can reach the Internet, and unlimited access (an entire religious class could read the same article at the same time!). Please let me know if you would like a demo of the Gale Virtual Reference Library or if you have any questions about the new edition of the Encyclopaedia Judaica or any of our other religious titles.
