Bnai Israel Congregation in Rockville, Maryland seeks a Librarian to join its senior staff.
We are seeking someone with a strong Jewish background for this full time position, to manage Washingtons premier AJL accredited synagogue library. Tasks include managing all phases of the library including collection development/acquisitions; programming to support a strong educational curriculum for our schools (pre-school, nursery school, Talmud Torah students, High School) and adult education; and creation of new programs to increase usage. A successful candidate should have experience working in a Jewish library and be willing to interact with all generations from story-hour children to adult book discussion groups to senior citizens. The candidate should have a working knowledge of computers and enjoy providing excellent service for reference, education, and enrichment.
