Dear Chevre,

I am trying to formulate a circulation policy for my K-8 library. We
do not fine students for overdue books during the year. At this
time, we have no policy regarding replacement of lost books, which is
what I am trying to address.
I would like to know what you do at the end of the year if a book is
still missing. Do you send a bill? For a set amount for a hardcover
or paperback book? What do you do if the bill is not paid? I have
heard that some libraries restrict the borrowing privileges the
following year until the account is settled.

Thanks for your assistance.
Carol
