How to Write & Sell Your Children’s Book

With authors Laurie Jacobs and Sarah Lamstein

Sunday, March 11,   3pm – 5:30pm

At Hebrew College, 160 Herrick Road, Newton

Join award-winning local children’s authors Laurie Jacobs and Sarah 
Lamstein along with Charlesbridge Publishing book editor Judy 
O’Malley for an overview of the craft of writing for children and the 
nuts and bolts of getting your work published. The workshop will be 
held on Sunday, March 11 from 3pm – 5:30pm at Hebrew College, 160

Laurie Jacobs is the author of A Box of Candles, which won the 
National Jewish Book Award for family Literature. She has published 
short stories in Cricket Magazine as well as another picture book, So 
Much in Common, with Boyds Mills Press.

Sarah Lamstein is the author of Annie’s Shabbat which was voted one 
of the Top 10 Religion Books for Youth in 1998. Her latest book, 
Hunger Moon is a finalist for the Julie Ward Howe Prize for Young 
Readers given by the Boston Authors Club.

Judy O’Malley is the Executive Editor of trade books for 
Charlesbridge Publishing in Watertown where she develops and directs 
new lines of transitional books, including early readers, chapter 
books and middle grade chapter books. She has been in publishing for 
over thirty years as an editor of children’s trade books and 
magazines, professional books and magazines and educational materials.
